放送にについて山下智久がコメントを寄せています。
「『THE HEAD』は海外ドラマへの初チャレンジ作品だったので、⾃分にとっても⾊々良い経験をさせてもらいましたし、すごく⼼に残っている⼤切な作品です。それがこうして地上波でも沢⼭の⼈に届けられることはとても嬉しいです。
当時の撮影を振り返ってみるとやっぱり⼤変ではありましたが、⼀⼈で役と向き合い、異国の地・異なるカルチャーの中で挑んだ作品だったので、そういう意味ではやれて良かったなと思っています。⼤変なことももちろん沢⼭ありましたが、それと同じぐらい、ためになることや勉強になることもありましたし、楽しい時間でした。
この作品は、ストーリーにとても奥⾏きがあります。細かいところまで緻密に描かれていてミステリー好きにはたまらない内容になっているので、ぜひそうした細かなストーリーやそれぞれのキャラクターの設定を楽しみながら観てもらえると、より深く楽しめると思います。
演出や映像で⾔うと、例えば氷河の上でのシーンはアイスランドでの撮影とスタジオでの撮影がありましたが、それがとても⾃然にうまく融合されているんです。実際に観るとどこがアイスランドでどこがスタジオだったか境⽬が分からないくらい、しっかり作られているのがすごいと思いました。
また、第1話で最初の被害者が出てくる場⾯はとてもスリリングで、それまでの楽しい雰囲気からいきなりドンと突き落とされるような⾼低差があるので、そこも楽しんでもらえたらいいなと思います。
これからちょうどジメジメ暑くなってくる季節だと思いますので、『THE HEAD』を観て良い意味でひんやりとして、梅⾬のジメジメを吹き⾶ばしてもらえたらなと思います。ぜひスリル満点のこの作品を楽しんでもらえたら嬉しいです」

I had a lot of good experiences with “THE HEAD” as it was my first attempt to work on a foreign drama. I am very happy to be able to deliver it to so many people on TV as well.
Looking back on the filming, it was a lot of work, but I am glad that I was able to do it because I had to face the role for myself, in a foreign country and in a different culture. It was a lot of hard work, of course, but it was also a lot of fun and educational as well.
The story of this work has a lot of depth to it. The story is very detailed and the content is very appealing to mystery lovers, so I hope you will enjoy the story and the setting of each character.
In terms of direction and images, for example, the scene on the glacier was shot in Iceland and in a studio, and they were blended together very well. When you actually watch the film, you can’t tell which part was shot in Iceland and which part was shot in a studio.
The scene where the first victim appears in the first episode is very thrilling.
I think it is the time of year when the weather is getting hot and humid, so I hope that “THE HEAD” will make you feel cool in a good way and blow away the gloom of the rainy season. I hope you will enjoy this thrilling film.
